Introduction of the Band
Wild Children
The band was greatly influenced by folk tunes existed in the music culture of the Yellow River Basin for hundreds of years in Northwest China. They follow the cycles of natural in the rhythm. With their unique musical language and rigorous attitude of creation，they finally became a milestone of new music in China. Wild Children will carry on a series of 2015 nationwide‘The Music of a Growing Tree’tour.
Zhang Quan：lead singer, guitarist, dobro
Ma Xuesong：guitarist, vocal
Zhang Weiwei：accordion, vocal
Guo Long: percussion, vocal

The Development
1995 Wild Children was set up by Zhang Quan, Suo Wenjun in Hangzhou city.
1995-2003 Wild Children came to Beijing city and the new members: Zhou Guobin, Gao Hui, Chen Zhipeng, Li Zhengkai, Zhang Weiwei joined the band.
2001 The ‘River Bar’(河吧) in Sanlitun East Road, Beijing was opened by Wild Children. This bar has become an important place where Beijing underground music groups gather, exchanging and communicating their performacnes.
2003 Wild Children broke up temporarily.
2004 The member Suo Wenjun died of gastric cancer in Beijing
2011 The band has been reorganized by Zhang Quan, Zhang Weiwei, Guo Long in
Yunnan province
2014.1 Wild Children joined Tree music. Today，after the reorganization，Wild Children is officially formed by Zhang Quan, Zhang Weiwei, Guo Long, Ma Xuesong, Wu Rui. They returned to the classic compilation of two guitarists and percussionists.
2014.9 The ‘Above the River’ tour has been successfully held in Chengdu/Lanzhou/Nanjing city.
2014.11 The massive theater tour“The Tree Grow in Sound”was held in Xi’an, Wuhan, Hangzhou, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Xiamen city. The theater was almost full everytimes. It proved that Wild Children has gotten more mature and popular under the guidance of Tree music.
2015.1.24 Wild Children preformed as the guest for Luo Qi’s Beijing solo concert in MasterCard center.
2015.5 The massive theater tour“The Tree Grow in Sound”was held in Wuxi, Changsha, Chongqing city. The theater was almost full everytimes. It proved that Wild Children got more mature and popular under the guidance of Tree music.

The special album of Wild Children 《Equal Way》 has been released--an album as the documentary of sound.
There were 9 songs in the album which were the recordings of the rehearsal in Yunnan province. It was kind of a review of their past classic pieces.
The Music of a Growing Tree”
The growth of a tree is just like the path of life, and so is music. The sound which gives us power for so long time is worth to be remembered and respected no matter which type it is.
Bringing the folk into the theater was the expectation of all the folk musician like Wild Children, but the situation of folk music is always not positive. However Zhang Quan belives that it will become a trend to watch the folk in the the theater. The better light, sound and the special atmosphere of the theater could make the audience have more deep feeling.
They presented their loyalty to the northwest land and the Yellow River. In the last 20 years they created and preformed amount of popular folk music. It is a band recognized as established the height and standard of Chinese New Folk music.
